Biography
Andrew studied music at the University of East Anglia (1993-1996) and won the PRS Sir Arthur Bliss Scholarship to study MMus Composition for Screen at the Royal College of Music London, under award winning Film and Television composers George Fenton and Joseph Horovitz, graduating with distinction in 1997.
After RCM, he was employed as an orchestrator, arranger and conductor on several feature films and commercials. In 1999, after composing original music for a short film TV pilot, The Briefcase Case, he was commissioned to compose original logo music, (Cine Dimanche et Cine Mardi) for the French Television Channel TF1 recording in Dublin with the Irish Chamber Orchestra.
In summer 2003, he was offered his first feature film, 30 Miles. He composed, orchestrated and conducted the score in only three weeks, recording in Sony Studios, London with principal members of the Philharmonia Orchestra. The film was shown internationally to critical acclaim at many prestigious film festivals throughout 2004 and released by Maverick Entertainment.
Andrew scored additional music for films such as Modigliani (2004), CashBack (2005), Dot.Com (2006) and The Christmas Miracle of Jonathan Toomey (2007), collaborating with composer Guy Farley on over thirty films and commercials, recording with large orchestras in Abbey Road, Air and Angel studios.
In March 2006, he scored his next independent Hollywood Film Dark Corners, written and directed by Ray Gower, starring Thora Birch (American Beauty) and Toby Stephens (Die Another Day). The film was screened at the Cannes Film festival and prestigious AFI Festival in Hollywood, CA 2006 and has aired frequently on the Sci-Fi Channel.
In addition to his film scoring commitments, he has composed a huge orchestral work in four movements, �Cinema Symphony�. In August 2007, the 92 piece Royal Scottish National Orchestra and maestro Jose Serebrier recorded the symphony in Henry Wood Hall, Glasgow. �Cinema Symphony� was released in December 2008 on the Moviescore Media label to critical acclaim and has broadcast worldwide, including a premiere on Classic FM, UK in 2009.
In October 2011, he composed and recorded a new signature theme for TF1 Cine Dimanche, with the City of Prague Philharmonic Orchestra and choir, which will broadcast regularly across France.
Andrew will score his next feature films, 'Chronoscope' and 'Daemon' written and directed by Ray Gower in Spring 2012.
